Kate got to spend time on her Grandma's lap as she settled down for the night. They loved singing songs together.
One morning we went to the "rainbow park", as all the grandkids call it. Later in the day we also went to a splash pad near my parents' home, but I didn't take pictures of that. This picture is my favorite of the entire trip. Grandpa let Ethan run the throttle for his trains, and Ethan loved learning how all the dials and buttons work. He tried hard to remember what to do, and Grandpa was patient in teaching Ethan. Ethan is at an age where he has questions about how the tracks connect to each other, and what different kinds of trains do (cattle, passenger, freight, etc.). He also knows terminology such as turn table, roundhouse, and coupler. At home, Ethan likes to play with his train set every single day. The pride in Ethan's face in this picture warms my heart:
