Vacation, Day Four: The Carnival and the Hotel Suite

On the way home from our family reunion, we traveled with Grandma and Grandpa, ate pizza in Rawlins, Wyoming, and rode on carnival rides while Tim found us the best hotel in all the land.

Kate and Ethan loved riding the choo-choo with Grandpa:
Ethan's first roller coaster ride (the attendant kept telling the kids to put their hands up. Ethan was terrified, but he did it anyway):
Kate really wanted to go on a ride, but the elephants, apparently, were not such a smooth choice. Ethan kept putting his arm around Kate, trying to comfort her, while Kate looked at us like, "Are you serious? Is this supposed to be fun?"
Ethan's favorite ride was the airplanes. I'm sure we would have had more success with Kate had we let her ride this one instead:

Then we went to our hotel, went swimming (in a clean, warm pool), put Kate to bed (quietly, successfully, quickly), and stayed up late talking.  My favorite memory of the whole trip just might be Ethan sitting in between his Grandma and Grandpa in their bed, and every so often laying across the bed on his tummy so he could get a chip from his dad, then going back to his spot in between Grandma and Grandpa.

Having fun reading all of your travelogues! Don't you just love driving through Wyoming? (minor sarcasm) It is so funny to hear that we both traveled through the same cities, just on different dates. :)
