Stay-cation

Tim had requested the entire week off after our family reunion. Originally, we had thought it would be nice to have a long vacation with our kids. But since we would be moving less than two weeks later, we decided we better go home and get some packing done.  Also, it is exhausting vacationing with kids.  How did our parents do it?

After getting work done around the house (we sent kids to a babysitter's house), we did make some time to go swimming at our local pool (both kids loved it, but Ethan especially found that he could be a real fish in the kiddie pool, and we loved that he could be independent there, walking around on his hands, going down the little slide over and over, playing with the hoses, etc.). . .
