December 25th

Christmas morning, we woke to more glorious snow. It snowed and snowed all day, and we had a wonderful day as a family.
Tim's family came for brunch as soon as they could get out of their house.
Then we read the Christmas story and we opened gifts. Usually our family opens gifts on Christmas Eve, but for some reason it just seemed to work to change tradition this year. Then we knew the kids would be fresh and we could take our time enjoying opening the gifts.

Kate has started "reading" when she has a book around.

Ethan got a drum and rhythm set, so we spent some time singing Christmas carols. He actually does pretty well with the drums, and it's not too bad of a gift. Be sure to see the video (now uploaded--I finally had time to upload the whole thing) on a post here. The videos are really cute.

In the afternoon, I spent more time cooking, and then we went over to Gabe and Karen's for dinner, where our friends Tera, Darin, Baby Paul, and our other friend Becky joined us. It was a nice evening; we shared lots of memories from past Christmases, and all the babies were good.
