A family tradition we have developed is going out into the wilderness to find our Christmas tree. Sometimes our church plans an outing for all families that would like to go out together to find their trees. The meeting time for this event was 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. We were not about to stress ourselves out over making it to the church by 8 o'clock, so we told our friends we'd meet them up their. Even though we left our house at 9:00, we still arrived at the destination only 15 minutes or so later than the rest of the group (but they picked up our tags for us at the forest service office).

Ethan went up the hill on the backpack with his daddy to look for our tree. He was excited to see his Grandma and Grandpa, but they weren't around for too long. Most of the time while Tim looked for the tree, he was not a happy camper. I'm sure it didn't help that he wasn't wearing boots or even warm socks. When he got back to the car, he needed a treat, and his dad needed a break. Here we are. . . the three moms and the three babes (Beca, Phineas, me, Kate, Tera, Paul):
Kate loved being outside. She and I stayed back at the car for most of the time so I could talk to Beca and Phineas. Kate got to wear her new snowsuit that her grandma got her back in February. It was so cute, and she stayed nice and warm. . .
