One year old!
Dear Kate, one year ago you entered the world, and we are so thankful!
You love to show off all the cute noises you can make. Whenever someone is watching, or whenever you want someone to watch, you click your tongue really loud, or "lurdle" your tongue, or point to the lights, or whatever your new trick might be. Then you giggle and crunch up your fists and hold them to your face and act shy until it's time to try again. You love getting a reaction out of people!
The other day we were at Grandma Choo-Choo's house and I think it's safe to say that you actually crawled. Up until now you have re---eeeeaa-----ached for stuff, usually successfully, but sometimes landing on your belly and not being able to get back, or Ethan would bring you whatever you wanted. Now you're slowly but surely becoming more confident in your ability to get around on your own. Good job. Keep at it and don't give up, even if what you want is far out of your reach and will take a lot of work to get there.
You love your big brother Ethan. One day you were sad because I had to put you in your carseat before we went out. While you kids were waiting for me to gather up my stuff, Ethan heard you crying and walked around until he found your water bottle. He gave it to you, crawled into his carseat, closed the door, and sat there entertaining you until I got into the car. When I got there, you were giggling away at that silly big brother!
You love to smile and entertain, but you can also be impatient. I'm trying to teach you to sign please in place of that scream that indicates you're ready for more food. You love strawberries and pears, especially when they're big pieces that you can eat all on your own.
You love your swing, your grandpas and grandmas, and anyone that will smile at you and say you're cute. And you are cute!
