Deep in the Heart of Texas: Day Three

If Day Two wasn't crazy enough for us, wait until you hear about Day Three. I got out of the shower to see all three kids lying around watching Saturday morning cartoons together. They must still be tired from swimming the night before.

We enjoyed our hotel breakfast (yum) and headed on the road. We were surprised to find a Rudy's Bar-b-cue a very short distance from our hotel, which made us laugh because in our haste to get the kids out of the car, fed, and into the swimming pool, we had "settled" on our dinner the night before.

Anyway, Tim's Grandma lives a short distance from where we were staying, so we had arranged to head up there so she could meet her great-grand daughter. Jen was wonderful to lug me around to all these places, but it was special. Isn't this the greatest picture?

We talked for a short while with Grandma S., then headed to our next location, the outlet mall! Here is Luke with two of his friends, Elmo and Zoe. I think I only went into one shop the entire time we were there, but I made many worthwhile purchases there--The Children's Place. I didn't have much time before lunch, because I had to go meet my sister-in-law and niece and nephew.

After lunch, we went back to the outlet mall and Kate and Brooke bought matching sweaters for next Christmas. At the checkout counter, I had Kate, Luke, Hayden, and Gwyneth with me and the lady commented on my blonde brood of kids. I laughed, but had to explain that only one of them was mine, and she's not even all that blonde yet. I loved seeing Brooke (another Brooke--my sis-in-law) and the kids. My brother Dave is in Iraq and I missed his R-and-R by about a week. :(
