Ethan played Spring soccer:
Tim coached again and he was amazing:
These sprinkler pics were taken on April 21st, when we had unusually warm weather on a nice Sunday afternoon:
Then the kids helped mow the lawn:
Kate got a cute haircut:
And she had her good friend over for a playdate/tea party:
We went out for Thai food on Cinco de Mayo (and then went on the roof attached to Gabe's photo studio):
Often in the mornings the kids and I would take a few minutes to enjoy the spring flowers in the sunshine before we headed to school:
We had friends over for a bbq:
And after this lovely Mother's Day evening. . . .
. . . we had a police officer with a gun knock on our door and tell us we had to leave our house so they could use our house as a sniper hide-out during the standoff at our neighbor's house. The kids and I ducked to the van in the driveway to find SWAT officers hiding behind our other vehicle with big guns and shields and I cheerily told the kids to keep their heads down and we waited for the officers to finish interviewing Tim about our neighbor. We drove down the street to find 15 cop cars and a fire engine blocking the street and scores of neighbors trying to see what was happening. Turns out everything was fine. . . just a little domestic disturbance/misunderstanding. No gunshots or arrests. But Ethan has been a little wigged out by any little story of guns or police officers or fires lately.
