Our friend Barbara gave us a ton of seeds to plant, and this is something we had been wanting to do for a long time. Now that it's July, many of our tiny seeds are turning into beautiful flowers and vegetables, but this is how we got started.
It was Easter Monday and the weather was nice:
We planted zucchini, squash, pumpkin, cantelop, watermelon, carrots, lettuce (in our flowerbox), sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, and strawflowers, and they all have at least one plant that is still alive, now planted in our "garden" (more pictures to come on that).
We also broke out the patio furniture and had our first lunch of the season on the back patio:
