For weeks before our trip, Ethan talked about going to "The Cabin." We talk like it's our own, but we just rent it for a great price with our in-laws and some friends, Darin and Tera. Ethan distinctly remembered last year, and I have to admit we did too (he was sick and whiny the entire time back when he was 3). So the day finally approached, and Ethan was ready for the trip in his Super Why costume:
Kate was also feeling super-hero like with her leopard-print bag: We made it to the cabin on Friday night. Saturday morning we headed out to the ice for some fishing. Ethan was a big help:
Kate just loved being outside:
Darin pulled the 2-year-olds around on this sled:
Ethan helped too:
Daddy caught a fish:
Kate loves her friend Paul, and they play so well together:
Kate and Paul loved sitting together to have snacks (and Ethan loved jumping in the picture too; the kids were all at a great age):
Our Saturday afternoon ski involved a climb up this mountain of snow while daddy got the ski trailer ready:
Tim did a great job of pulling the kids up some difficult little hills:
The coolest thing on this ski was when Gabe said something like, "Wow. What a great day. Now all we need is to see a moose and I'd be in heaven."
Karen looked across the river and calmly said, "Oh, there's one over there." It was just sitting directly on the other side of the river, keeping warm in the snow. Pretty amazing.
