So we slept until about 7:30, started the coffee, and when we heard Ethan walking around upstairs, Tim decided he better go get the Santa gifts and put them under the tree. I tried to distract Ethan by dragging him into the pantry to give him chocolate or something, and somehow Tim snuck the gifts into the living room.

Then Ethan prepared to open his gifts:

He got a Morgan's Mine from Santa:

By the way, Ethan noticed that Santa knows how to write Ethan's name in the right kind of handwriting (with the curls on the end of each letter, like Ethan's teachers tell him to write).

Kate got her own orange sweatshirt in honor of our favorite team (actually, Ethan's favorite team):

The day was so nice that we went for a walk around the neighborhood:

Then we played outside and Kate had some goldfish:

 For dinner, we went to our friends' house, Darin and Tera's, along with our other "family".  It was a fun night, and thankfully Kate and Ethan are at an age when they can be a little more independent.  I am thankful for all our friends:
