December 4th was a really wonderful day. . . a Saturday that we started out by making waffles:

And then we decided that we needed to have a tea party "as a whole family" (as Ethan calls it), so we made Spritz cookies:

Then, after a break to go shopping and take naps, our tea party began, with everything from colored popcorn, cheese, crackers, Santa plates, and Christmas mugs:

 The tea party set us back a little bit, but we got our act together in time to have our friends over for dinner (here are Phin, Kate, and Joshua):
